What is blood pressure?

When blood moves it pushes against the wall, and the pressure it pushes against it, is blood pressure. There is two readings in the blood pressure monitor, one is systolic and one is diastolic.

 

SYSTOLIC

Pressure in arteries when heart pumps blood out.

 

DIASTOLIC

Pressure in arteries when the heart is resting.

 

Why do you measure blood pressure?

Blood pressure can give us impormation about your health. It can also help us determine whether you can recieve high levels 

 

What is a high blood pressure and what is a low blood pressure?

Usually a blood pressure with 130/90mm HG is a high blood pressure, the chances of you getting a stroke or heart attack is high. 80/60mm HG is classified as low blood pressure but unlike high blood pressure, low blood pressure is less dangerous, you usually only get faints and dizziness. Between 80/60mm HG to 130/90mm HG is normal.
