What is body mass index?

 

BMI is a way to see whether your weight is appropriate for your height. This test is not suitable for athletes, body builders, children, pregnant people and eldery people. 

 

Why do you measure BMI?

 

By using the BMI we can determine whether you are under weight, normal, over weight or obese.

 

What is a high BMI and what is a low BMI?

 

A number between 18.0-25.0 is normal, lower than 18 is underweight and over 25 is over weight

 

Below is a BMI chart.

Blue is under weight. Green is healthy weight. Yellow is overweight. Orange is obese. Red is extremely obese.
