Flexibility is the capacity of movement of a joint.
Sit and reach test
Sit and reach test is a test that tests your flexibilty of your hamstrings using a sit and reach box. Basically you sit with your legs striaght and reach as far as you can without bending your knees.
Equipment needed:
Sit and reach box
Recording sheet
Step by step guide:
1. Sit on the floor with one leg striaght and one leg bent(foot must touch the box fully)
2. Reach as far as you can
3. Mark down the score
4. Change legs
Flexibilty
Advantages:
1. Cheap because all you need is a sit and reach box
2. Easy to understand becuase all you do is sit and reach
3. Easy to set up because only 1 equipment is needed
4. Can check hamstring flexibilty accurately
5. Can administrate by athlete easily
Disadvantages
1. Hard to get access to a sit and reach box because they do not sell it in normal sports shops.
2. Result can be unfair as people might have longer arms and their result will be better.
3. Need someone to record result accurately.
4. Can only measure lower body flexibility but not other parts at the same time
5.Require warm up(or else the result would not be the best result)
